The high temperature cartridge heaters are meticulously engineered to facilitate efficient heat transfer and durability in demanding environments. Central to their design is a nickel-chrome resistance wire, wrapped tightly around a magnesium oxide core, and housed within a robust stainless steel or Incoloy tube. This configuration places the resistance wire in close proximity to the sheath, optimizing heat transfer.

Magnesium oxide powder fills the space around the core, with nickel pins traversing its center to establish a connection with the resistance wire at both ends, ensuring uniform heating. A swaging process compacts the assembly, enhancing the heat transfer to the external sheath and enabling the heater to achieve operating temperatures up to 1600ºF and high watt densities.

The heaters are meticulously sealed at one end with a welded metal end-disc, while the opposite end, from which wire leads emerge, is typically sealed with a lava seal. This design accommodates a variety of wire leads and lead protection options, catering to diverse application needs. Additionally, these heaters can be customized with features like internal thermocouples and mounting fittings to suit specific requirements, demonstrating their adaptability and efficiency in various industrial settings.
